  • 0.25 Cups (c) white sugar
  • 0.25 Cups (c) milk
  • 1 Large egg
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, softened
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 0.5 Cups (c) all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) cocoa powder
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) baking powder
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste

Steps

  1. Spray a medium microwave-safe bowl with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, milk, egg, butter, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Blend the flour mixture into the milk mixture until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared microwave-safe bowl.
  5. Cover and cook in the microwave on high for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until the cake springs back when touched.
  6. Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes, then cover the bowl with a plate and invert the cake onto the plate.
