  • 1 6.5 Ounces (oz) can minced clams
  • 0.25 Cups water
  • 4 Whole potatoes, diced
  • 1 Whole onion, minced
  • 2 Cups milk
  • 1 12 Fluid Ounces (fl oz) can evaporated milk
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) dried parsley
  • 0.25 Teaspoons (tsp) dried thyme
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) Old Bay Seasoning
  • 0.125 Teaspoons (tsp) celery salt
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 Cup crushed saltine crackers

Steps

  1. Drain the clams, reserving the liquid, and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, combine the reserved clam liquid with water, potatoes, and onion. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in the milk, evaporated milk, butter, parsley, thyme, Old Bay Seasoning, celery salt, and black pepper. Simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the minced clams and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, ensuring the clams are heated through.
