Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces (oz) macaroni
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, melted
  • 2.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) onion, minced
  • 16 Ounces (oz) processed cheese food, cubed
  • 0.75 Cups milk
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the macaroni pasta until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Place butter and minced onions in a 2-quart microwave-safe covered casserole dish. Cook on high in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked pasta, cubed cheese, and milk to the casserole dish. Stir well. Cook on high in the microwave for 11 to 12 minutes, stirring well after 4, 8, and 11 minutes. The mixture will still be runny at this stage.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the dish stand for 5 to 8 minutes before serving, allowing the sauce to thicken as it cools.
