Ingredients
- 2 8 Ounces (oz) packages cream cheese
- 1 Pound (lb) crabmeat, shredded
- 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) dark soy sauce
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) fresh ginger root, minced
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) fresh cilantro, minced
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) dried parsley
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic, minced
- 1 14 Ounces (oz) package small wonton wrappers
- 1 Quart (qt) oil for frying
Steps
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded crabmeat, soy sauce, minced ginger, minced cilantro, dried parsley, and minced garlic until well combined.
- Heat the oil in a large heavy skillet or deep fryer to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- While the oil is heating, place 0.5 to 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper, fold two corners together over the filling to form a triangle, then bring the remaining corners up to join them and press firmly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling. Keep prepared wontons under a slightly moist paper towel until ready to fry.
- Fry the wontons in batches of 3 or 4 at a time in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy, about 1 to 2 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Transfer the fried wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
