Ingredients

  • 2 Cups flour
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) kosher salt
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) black pepper, ground
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) tarragon, dried
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) ginger, ground
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) mustard powder, dry
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) thyme leaves, dried
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) oregano, dried
  • 1 Whole egg
  • 0.25 Cups milk
  • 8 6 Ounces (oz) chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 0.5 Cups vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two baking trays with aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, kosher salt, ground black pepper, dried tarragon, ground ginger, dry mustard powder, dried thyme leaves, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Mix until well-blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until smooth.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat again in the flour mixture. Place the coated chicken on one of the prepared baking trays and let rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, cook the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer the fried chicken to the second prepared baking tray.
  6. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) and the juices run clear.
  7. Serve the chicken hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired, and enjoy the crispy, flavorful delight!
