Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces (oz) medium pasta shells, packaged
  • 10 Ounces (oz) frozen peas, thawed
  • 1 Cup Cheddar cheese, diced
  • 0.25 Pound (lb) deli ham, diced
  • 0.25 Cup onion, minced
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) lemon juice
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) pepper

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Stir in the shell pasta and cook until tender but firm to the bite, about 10 to 11 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed peas, diced Cheddar cheese, diced ham, and minced onion.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vegetable oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to create the dressing.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the large bowl with the pea mixture. Pour the dressing over the top and stir until everything is well coated.
  5. Cover the salad and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
