  • 2 - 10.5 Ounces (oz) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 3 - Cups water
  • 1 - Cup celery, sliced
  • 2 - Whole onions, quartered
  • 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) salt
  • 0.5 - Teaspoon (tsp) poultry seasoning
  • 0.5 - Teaspoon (tsp) black pepper, ground
  • 4 - Whole chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 5 - Whole carrots, sliced
  • 1 - 10 Ounces (oz) package frozen green peas
  • 4 - Whole potatoes, quartered
  • 3 - Cups baking mix
  • 1.33 - Cups milk

Steps

  1. In a large, heavy pot, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, water, chicken, celery, onions, salt, poultry seasoning, and black pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for 1.5 hours.
  2. Add the quartered potatoes and sliced carrots to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pot, shred it, and return it to the pot. Add the frozen green peas and cook for 5 more minutes.
  4. To make the dumplings, mix the baking mix and milk until a soft dough forms. Drop tablespoonfuls of the dough onto the boiling stew. Simmer covered for 10 minutes, then uncover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
