Ingredients
- 0.25 Cups butter, melted
- 1 Large onion, minced
- 6 Whole potatoes, peeled
- 2 Whole carrots, diced
- 3 Cups water
- 2 Tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
- 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste
- 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 Cups milk
- 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
- 0.25 Teaspoons dried thyme
Steps
- Gather all the ingredients.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- In another pot, combine the peeled potatoes, diced carrots, water, and chicken bouillon. Bring to a boil and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Season with ground black pepper to taste.
- Add the flour to the cooked onions to create a paste. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, stirring well. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until warmed through.
- Add the potato and carrot mixture to the milk and onion mixture. Stir in the dried parsley and thyme, and heat through. Serve hot.
