Ingredients

  • 1 Cup canola oil
  • 0.25 Cup white vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) dried basil
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) dried oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried thyme
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) dried parsley
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) onion powder
  • 2 Whole bay leaves
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) kosher salt
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) ground black pepper
  • 8 Wooden skewers, drained
  • 2 Pounds cubed beef, marinated
  • 8 1 Inch thick slices French bread

Steps

  1. In a large resealable bag, combine canola oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, onion powder, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Add beef cubes to the marinade, seal the bag, and shake to coat the beef thoroughly. Marinate in the refrigerator overnight or for up to 3 days.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto 8 skewers, dividing them evenly. Discard the marinade.
  3. Grill the beef skewers for 15 to 20 minutes, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  4. To serve, place a whole skewer of beef on a slice of French bread. Hold the beef using the bread and pull the skewer out. Enjoy!
