  • 2 - 1.5 Pounds (lb) salmon fillets, peeled
  • 1 - Cup miso paste
  • 0.5 - Cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 - Cup soy-ginger salad dressing, packaged
  • 0.25 - Cup sake
  • 0.25 - Cup water
  • 3 - Tablespoons (tbsp) rice vinegar, seasoned
  • 2 - Tablespoons (tbsp) sesame seeds
  • 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) sesame oil

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Fill a large skillet with about 1 inch of water and bring to a boil. Poach the salmon fillets just until cooked on the outside, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer the fillets to a broiler pan.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the miso paste, brown sugar, soy-ginger salad dressing, sake, water, rice vinegar, sesame seeds, and sesame oil. Spread this mixture over the tops of the salmon fillets.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven until almost cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  5. Switch the oven to broil, and broil the salmon until the top is browned and bubbly, about 5 more minutes.
  6. Cut the fillets into portions and serve.
