- 1 Pound (lb) lean ground beef, ground
- 1 Whole onion, minced
- 28 Ounces (oz) peeled and crushed tomatoes, pureed
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) vegetable oil
- 1 Pinch salt, to taste
- 2 Cups instant mashed potato flakes
- 1 Cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
