- 1 Pound (lb) bulk hot Italian sausage
- 5 Tablespoons (tbsp) chili powder
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) cumin, ground
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) coriander, ground
- 1 Large onion, minced
- 2 Cloves garlic, minced
- 28 Ounces (oz) diced tomatoes
- 15 Ounces (oz) tomato sauce
- 14 Ounces (oz) kidney beans
- 2 Teaspoons (tsp) chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 1 Pinch black pepper, to taste
- 6 Ounces (oz) tomato paste
Steps
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until lightly browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
- Add chili powder, cumin, and coriander to the pot. Cook and stir until the spices are fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook and stir until the onion is softened and translucent, about 4 minutes.
