Ingredients

  • 5 Pounds (lb) bone-in pork shoulder roast
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) kosher salt
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) black pepper, ground
  • 1.5 Cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) brown sugar
  • 1.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) hot pepper sauce
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) cayenne pepper
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) red pepper flakes, crushed

  3. Stir the brown sugar, hot pepper sauce, cayenne pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes into the reserved liquid. Mix this sauce into the shredded pork in the slow cooker.
