- 8 Ounces (oz) lasagna noodles
- 16 Ounces (oz) sour cream
- 24 Ounces (oz) mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
- 0.75 Cups Parmesan cheese, grated
- 0.5 Cups green olives, minced
- 3 Large eggs, whisked
- 2 Teaspoons (tsp) salt
- 0.25 Teaspoons (tsp) black pepper, ground
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage, ground beef, and minced garlic until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, basil, oregano, and a pinch of sugar to the meat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes.
- While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, olives, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer with 1/3 of the lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the remaining meat sauce, and 1/3 of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers two more times, finishing with a layer of noodles and sauce. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
