Ingredients

  • 1 Whole lime, juiced
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) red wine vinegar
  • 0.25 Cups orange juice
  • 0.5 Cups white wine
  • 0.25 Cups honey
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) salt
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) pepper
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) chipotle chile powder
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) onion powder
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) chili powder
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) dried oregano
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) ground cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) ground ginger
  • 1 Pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) olive oil
  • 6 Skinless, boneless chicken breasts, tenderized

Steps

  1. In a bowl, whisk together lime juice, red wine vinegar, orange juice, white wine, and honey until the honey dissolves.
  2. Add salt, pepper, chipotle chile powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, cinnamon, oregano, cumin, ginger, red pepper flakes, cayenne, and olive oil to the mixture. Whisk to combine.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag and coat the chicken well. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 days.
  4. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Grill the chicken for approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until the juices run clear and there is no pink in the meat.
