  1. 1

Set each chicken breast on a cutting board between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Carefully pound with a mallet or a brick wrapped in foil to flatten each breast to 1/4 inch thick, taking care not to pound through.

  2. 2

Cut the ham and Swiss cheese slices in half so you have 4 pieces of each. Stack 1 piece of ham and 1 piece of cheese in the center of each flattened chicken breast. Roll up like a jelly roll, tucking the ham and cheese inside as you roll. Secure the ends and sides with toothpicks to keep the cheese from leaking. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or up to 4 hours.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), if the manufacturer recommends preheating.

  4. 4

In a small bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Put the beaten egg in a second bowl. Put the bread crumbs in a third bowl.

  5. 5

Dip each chicken bundle in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and finally in the bread crumbs to coat. If any spots are only covered with flour, lightly dab with beaten egg and bread crumbs. Gently pat each bundle with melted butter and set in the air fryer basket.

  6. 6

Air-fry until the crust is nicely browned and the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 20 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted in the center should register at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products

easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.

The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.

Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.

For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
