Rinse the shrimp thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Roughly chop the shrimp into medium pieces and put them into the bowl of a food processor.
- 2
Add 1 beaten egg, shallot, sesame oil, cornstarch, brown sugar, fish sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper to the shrimp in the food processor. Process until a smooth paste forms. Move the shrimp paste to a bowl and chill until slightly firm, about 30 minutes.

Take the paste out of the refrigerator. Using an ice cream scoop, a tablespoon, or your hands, shape the shrimp paste into balls.
- 4
Set a steamer insert in a saucepan and add water to just below the steamer’s bottom. Bring the water to a boil. Add the shrimp balls, cover, and steam until opaque, about 5 minutes. Transfer the steamed shrimp balls to a plate and let them cool to room temperature, about 5 minutes.

Put bread crumbs in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Place 2 beaten eggs in a separate bowl. Coat the steamed shrimp balls in bread crumbs, then in the beaten eggs, then again in bread crumbs, and set them on a plate.

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products
easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.
The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.
Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.
For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
