    Add salt to the soaked bread and heat just to a simmer over medium-low, then simmer for 2 minutes. Drain right away and cover to keep warm.

    Drain the fish and cover it with fresh water; bring to a boil. Cook until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, about 20 minutes.
