In a medium bowl, mix the flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Cut in the butter with a fork or pastry blender until the mixture looks like bread crumbs. Stir in cold water with a fork until the dough can come together into a ball. Knead a few times, then divide the pastry into two pieces. You may refrigerate the pastry for later use at this point.
- 2
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). On a lightly floured surface, roll each half of the pastry into a 10-inch circle.
- 3
Lay half of the potato slices in a line down the center of each circle, leaving at least 1 inch uncovered at each end. Arrange onion slices over the potatoes, and season with salt, pepper, and some of the dried parsley. Place half of the beef cubes over each onion layer, then season again with salt, pepper, and dried parsley. Fold the pastry edges over the filling and tuck in the ends.
- 4
Move the two pastries to a greased baking sheet, and cut a few slits in the tops of each one for ventilation.
- 5
Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 6
Remove from the oven, reduce the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), spoon 1 teaspoon of water into each slit on top of the pasties, return to the oven, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products
easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.
The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.
Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.
For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
