Herbed Greek Yogurt–Marinated Cornish Hens

Cornish game hens are coated in a Greek yogurt marinade brightened with lemon juice and seasoned with paprika, garlic salt, thyme, black pepper, oregano, and rosemary. 1. 1

Place Cornish game hens in a large resealable plastic bag.

  2. 2

Mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, paprika, olive oil, garlic salt, thyme, black pepper, oregano, rosemary, and savory together in a small bowl. Pour the yogurt mixture over the game hens, turning them to coat completely and allowing some of the mixture to enter their cavities. Seal the bag, removing as much air as possible, and refrigerate for 2 hours to overnight.

  3. 3

Preheat the grill to low heat and lightly oil the grate.

  4. 4

Remove the game hens from the bag and pat them dry. Discard the yogurt mixture. Grill until the skin starts to brown, about 3 minutes per side. Cover the grill and cook the game hens, rotating if needed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh, near the bone, reads 165 degrees F (74 degrees C), 15 to 20 minutes.

  5. 5

Remove the game hens from the grill and slice them open on the breast side, flattening them like open books. Return them to the grill, cut-side down, cover the grill, and cook until browned, about 4 minutes.

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products

easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.

The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.

Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.

For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
