- 1
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- 2
Cut each full rack of ribs in half to make 4 half racks. Season with salt and black pepper (more black pepper than salt); sprinkle 1 tablespoon ground chile pepper over the meat.
- 3
Wrap each half rack in aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- 4
Meanwhile, heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir the onion in the hot oil for 5 minutes. Stir in the water, tomato paste, vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Add the molasses, 2 teaspoons salt, garlic powder, whisky, the remaining 1/2 tablespoon ground chile pepper, liquid smoke, onion powder, paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat. Simmer uncovered until the sauce thickens, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and set the sauce aside.
- 5
Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- 6
Remove the wrapped ribs from the oven. Let them stand for 10 minutes, then take the ribs out of the foil.
- 7
Grill the ribs on the preheated grill for 3 to 4 minutes per side. Brush sauce on the ribs while grilling, just before serving (adding the sauce too early will burn the ribs).

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products
easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.
The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.
Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.
For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
