Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- 2
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion; cook and stir until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat to cool.
- 3
Meanwhile, put the bread crumbs in a large bowl; pour the milk over them and let stand until all the liquid is absorbed, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked onion, ground beef, ground pork, egg, salt, and black pepper until the filling is evenly combined.
- 4
Line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with 2 large beet leaves; reserve 2 leaves for the top. Lay the remaining beet leaves on a flat work surface; place a heaping teaspoon of filling on the wide end (bottom) of each leaf. Roll each leaf around the filling, working one at a time; arrange in the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling. Pour the chicken broth over the rolls; place the 2 reserved leaves on top.
- 5
Bake in the preheated oven until the beet leaves are tender and the filling is cooked through, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the centers should register at least 160 degrees F (72 degrees C).
- 6
Drain the liquid from the baking dish into a small saucepan. Whisk the cream and flour together in a small bowl until smooth; gradually stir this into the cooking liquid in the saucepan. Bring to a bare simmer over medium-low heat; cook gently, without boiling, until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- 7
Transfer the rolls to a serving dish; pour the sauce over the top. Sprinkle the rolls with dill.

How easyChef Pro scores recipes and products
easyChef Pro analyzes up to 41 nutrients using data sourced from USDA and other verified food databases. Its scoring method uses the nutrients relevant to nutrition quality, calorie density, processing level, and your selected health goal. Recipes and food products get a health score from 0 to 100, calculated using consistent rules instead of being estimated by AI. The same nutrition data, serving size and health goal will produce the same result.
The calculation evaluates nutrients, calorie density, processing level, and how well the food supports your selected health goal. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other beneficial nutrients can strengthen the score. High amounts of sodium, saturated fat, added sugar and other nutrients may lower it.
Your health goal also matters. easyChef Pro evaluates recipes and products across six health areas and adjusts their importance for your selected goal. This means the same food may be a better fit for one health goal than another.
For recipes, changing an ingredient, quantity or serving size changes the nutrition and may change the score. Remix the recipe in easyChef Pro to calculate fresh nutrition and scores for the version you actually make. Product scores are based on the nutrition and serving information associated with that specific product.
