Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks

Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks deliver juicy meat beneath a boldly spiced, cornflake-crisp crust. Garlic, onion, Cajun, and smoky chili notes punch up the flavor while the air fryer locks in moisture and crunch. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or game-day plate with your favorite dipping sauce.

  1. 1

    Assemble all the ingredients.

  2. 2

In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg with the water. In a second shallow bowl, combine the cornflake crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, Cajun seasoning, chili powder, and paprika.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly season the drumsticks on both sides with salt. Dip each drumstick into the egg mixture, then into the cornflake mixture, rolling and pressing to coat all surfaces.

  4. 4

Spray the tops of the chicken with cooking spray and place them, sprayed side down, in the air fryer basket. Spray the tops of the drumsticks—depending on their size, you may need to set them on their sides.

  5. 5

Air-fry for 10 minutes, then carefully turn them over. Reduce the temperature to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C). Cook for another 10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Check doneness after 5 minutes since drumstick size affects timing.
