Sati Babi

Sati Babi features juicy pork butt marinated with coriander, cumin, soy sauce, and a hint of brown sugar, then grilled on skewers until lightly charred. A final squeeze of lime brightens the savory spice and balances the richness. Ideal for a backyard cookout or casual dinner with bold, Southeast Asian-inspired flavors.

  1. 1

In a glass bowl or dish, combine coriander, cumin, salt, oil, and pepper. Add the pork cubes and stir to coat. Let sit for 20 minutes.

  2. 2

Add the onions, soy sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and ginger; stir to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  3. 3

Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate. Thread the pork cubes onto eight skewers. Discard the onions.

  4. 4

Grill on the preheated grill, basting often with the remaining marinade. Turn occasionally until cooked through, about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

Serve with lime juice sprinkled to taste. Discard any unused marinade.
