- 1
Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- 2
Slice the tips off each of the 2 whole Plantain(s). Score the peel with one lengthwise slit without cutting into the flesh, then cut the unpeeled 2 whole Plantain(s) into 1-inch chunks. Peel off the skin from each chunk starting at the slit.
- 3
Arrange the plantain chunks in the air fryer basket in a single layer and coat lightly with 1 tbsp of Olive Oil Spray; air fry for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, mix 1 pinch of To Taste Salt into a bowl of water to create salted water.
- 4
Using tongs, transfer the plantain pieces from the air fryer and press each to about 1/2-inch thickness with a plantain smasher. Submerge the flattened tostones in the salted water while you finish smashing the rest.
- 5
Lift the tostones from the salted water and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- 6
Return the tostones to the air fryer in batches in a single layer. Spray the tops with 1 tbsp of Olive Oil Spray and season with 1 pinch of To Taste Salt; air fry for 5 minutes. Flip with tongs, spray the other side with 1 tbsp of Olive Oil Spray, season with 1 pinch of To Taste Salt, and air fry until golden brown and crisp, 4 to 5 minutes more.
