Parmesan-Garlic Breadsticks

Parmesan-Garlic Breadsticks come out soft and fluffy with a warm, yeasty aroma, then get brushed with butter for a rich finish. A sprinkle of garlic powder and Parmesan adds a savory, cheesy crust that makes them perfect alongside pizza, pasta, or soups. Serve them hot for family dinners, game nights, or whenever you want a comforting side.

Parmesan-Garlic Breadsticks
  1. 1

Heat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and grease 2 baking sheets.

  2. 2

Stir the yeast and 2 pinches of white sugar into warm water in a bowl, then let it sit until the yeast softens and forms a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Combine 4 cups flour, hot water, 3 tablespoons sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl; add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and mix. Add the remaining flour one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Keep working the mixture until it becomes a dough; divide the dough into 2 halves. Shape each half into 12 long breadsticks and place them on the prepared baking sheets.

  4. 4

Drizzle the melted butter over the breadsticks and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

  5. 5

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 13 minutes.
