Stir the garlic into the pot and cook for 30 seconds. Add the beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan. Stir in the cranberry sauce, balsamic vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Return the roast to the pot and spoon some sauce over the top. Arrange the onion and thyme around and on top of the roast.

Close and lock the lid. Set to high pressure according to the manufacturer's instructions; set the timer for 60 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build.

Release the pressure using the natural-release method according to the manufacturer's instructions, at least 10 minutes. Carefully release any remaining pressure with the quick-release method according to the manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid.

Transfer the roast to a serving plate. Remove the onions and thyme sprigs from the pot. Select the Saute function. Stir together the cornstarch and water in a bowl, then add to the pot; simmer until the gravy begins to thicken, about 10 minutes. Serve the gravy with the roast.
