  1. 1

    Gather all the ingredients.

  2. 2

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 15 minutes. Remove the eggs from the hot water, cool them under cold running water, and peel.

  3. 3

Meanwhile, heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking and stirring until the onions are very tender and golden brown, 5 to 10 more minutes. Transfer to a plate.

  4. 4

Cook the chicken livers in the same skillet until they are no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, 5 to 10 minutes. Place the chicken livers on the same plate as the onions and let them cool.

  5. 5

Process the chicken livers and onions in a food processor to your preferred consistency.

  6. 6

Transfer to a bowl, season with salt and sugar, and stir in the chopped eggs.

  7. 7

Chill before serving, about 2 hours.
