Crispy Skillet Chicken Breasts
Crispy Skillet Chicken Breasts deliver a golden, crackly crust with juicy, tender meat inside, thanks to a well-seasoned double dredge. Aromatic hints of tarragon, thyme, ginger, and mustard powder add depth that pairs beautifully with simple sides. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering when you want satisfying flavor with minimal fuss.

- 1
Line 2 baking trays with aluminum foil; set aside.
- 2
In a shallow bowl, stir together flour, salt, pepper, tarragon, ginger, mustard powder, thyme, garlic powder, and oregano until well combined. In a separate bowl, beat together egg and milk until smooth.
- 3
Coat chicken breasts in the flour mixture, shake off the excess, then dip in the egg, and coat in the flour again. Place the coated chicken breasts on one of the prepared baking trays; set aside to rest for 10 minutes.
- 4
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- 5
Dredge the chicken breasts in flour once more; shake off the excess.
- 6
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken breasts in the hot oil until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer the fried chicken breasts to the second prepared baking tray.
- 7
Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 20 to 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should register at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
