Crispy Air-Fried Green Tomatoes
  1. 1

Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

Put the flour in a shallow dish. In a second shallow dish, beat the buttermilk and eggs together. In a third dish, combine the panko bread crumbs, cornmeal, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. 3

Coat the tomato slices in flour and shake off any excess. Dip them into the egg mixture, then press both sides into the cornmeal mixture.

  4. 4

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brush the air fryer basket with olive oil.

  5. 5

Working in batches, arrange the breaded tomatoes in the prepared basket so they do not touch. Brush the tops of the tomatoes with olive oil.

  6. 6

Air-fry in the preheated air fryer for 12 minutes, flip the tomatoes, and brush with olive oil again. Continue cooking until crisp and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes more. Transfer the tomatoes to a paper towel-lined rack to keep them crisp. Repeat with the remaining tomatoes.
