Crispy Air-Fried Onion Rings

Crispy Air-Fried Onion Rings deliver a light, golden crunch with a tender, sweet onion center. A seasoned breadcrumb coating, lifted by baking powder and a touch of garlic and paprika, gives each bite a satisfying crackle without the heaviness of deep-frying. Serve hot for game day, burger nights, or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer with your favorite dipping sauces.

Crispy Air-Fried Onion Rings
  1. 1

In a small bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Dip the onion rings into this flour mixture until coated, then set them on a plate.

  2. 2

Using a fork, stir the milk and egg into the remaining flour mixture. Dip the floured rings into the batter to coat, then place them on a wire rack until the batter stops dripping.

  3. 3

Put the bread crumbs in a shallow dish. Add the rings one at a time to the bread crumbs, spooning crumbs over the top until they are evenly coated. Tap the rings firmly as you lift them from the crumbs so the coating sticks well.

  4. 4

Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) following the manufacturer's directions. Arrange the rings in the air fryer basket side-by-side without overlapping; mist lightly with cooking spray, then flip the rings.

  5. 5

Place the basket in the air fryer and cook until the rings are golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes, turning once halfway through. Drain on paper towels and season with garlic powder and paprika.
