  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x11-inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Place the bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat until the edges just begin to curl, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Drain the partially cooked bacon on a paper towel-lined plate. Keep about 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings in the skillet.

  3. 3

Cook and stir the onion and the garlic in the bacon drippings until the onion softens, 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.

  4. 4

Combine the cooled onion and garlic, ground beef, 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, bread crumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, oregano, and chili powder in a large bowl, mixing with your hands until well blended. Shape the beef mixture into a log-shaped meatloaf and place it in the prepared baking dish.

  5. 5

Wrap the partially cooked bacon slices around the meatloaf, tucking the ends of the bacon underneath the loaf.

  6. 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. Brush the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce. Continue baking until it is no longer pink in the center, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should register at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
