In a medium bowl, combine warm water, melted margarine, sugar, and 3 beaten eggs.

In a large bowl, combine yeast, salt, and 7 cups of flour. Gradually stir in the liquid ingredients, and mix until the dough comes together.

Knead the dough on a floured surface with the remaining flour until smooth.

Divide the dough into 2 large pieces. Divide each of the 2 large pieces into 3 pieces. Roll each third into a rope 3/4 inch thick and braid 3 strands together. Repeat. Place the shaped dough on greased cookie sheets. Brush the dough with the remaining beaten egg. Add poppy or sesame seeds, if desired. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
