Easy, Low-Sugar Pear Butter
Easy, Low-Sugar Pear Butter is a smooth, gently sweet spread made from ripe pears brightened with orange zest and a hint of nutmeg. A touch of sugar plus sucralose keeps it light, while gelatin sets it to a lush, spoonable texture perfect for toast, yogurt, or cheese boards. Ideal for breakfast, gifting, or adding a fruity accent to snacks.

Put the pears in a large pot and add enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until the fruit is soft, about 30 minutes. Drain, move the pears to a blender, puree them, and return the puree to the pot.

Stir the sugar, sweetener, orange zest, nutmeg, and orange juice into the pot and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring often, until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Take off the heat and stir in the gelatin until fully dissolved. Ladle into hot sterile jars and seal with lids and rings, or fill freezer containers and freeze if you prefer.
