    Combine the pork, beef, onion, garlic, water, salt, thyme, sage, black pepper, and cloves in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a boil. Lower the heat to low and simmer until the meat is cooked, about 5 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature.

    Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

    Spoon the meat mixture into the pie crust. Place the top crust over it and pinch the edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust to let steam escape. Cover the pie edges with strips of aluminum foil.
