Greek Yogurt–Marinated Grilled Chicken with Lemon and Herbs
Greek Yogurt–Marinated Grilled Chicken with Lemon and Herbs delivers juicy, tender pieces with a tangy yogurt base, bright lemon, and aromatic herbs balanced by smoky paprika. The grill adds a crisp, charred finish, while a cool harissa-lemon yogurt sauce brings gentle heat and creaminess. Ideal for summer cookouts or a relaxed weekend dinner with salads and flatbreads.

- 1
Assemble all the ingredients.
- 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, garlic, lemon juice and zest, olive oil, paprika, herbes de Provence, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Pour the mixture into a large resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken and stir to coat. Press out excess air and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
- 4
Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. For the sauce, stir together the yogurt, lemon juice, and harissa in a small bowl until combined. Set aside.
- 5
Transfer the chicken to a plate or a baking sheet lined with paper towels, and discard the marinade. Pat the chicken dry with additional paper towels. Season with a pinch of salt.
- 6
Grill the chicken, skin-side down, on the preheated grill for 2 minutes. Flip each piece and move it to indirect heat.
- 7
Keep grilling with the lid down, turning often, until well browned and the meat is no longer pink in the center, 30 to 35 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh, near the bone, should register 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- 8
Serve the chicken with the sauce on the side.
