    Put the cranberries, water, and spice bag in a medium saucepan over medium heat and cook until the cranberries start to burst, about 10 minutes.

    Stir in the sugar and lower the heat to low, then keep cooking until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Take it off the heat and let it cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.

    Remove and discard the spice bag. Cover the cranberry sauce and chill it in the refrigerator before serving, 8 hours to overnight.
