Jeera Rice
Jeera Rice is light, fluffy basmati infused with the warm aroma of cumin, cloves, peppercorns, cardamom, and bay leaf. Rinse the rice 3 to 4 times and move it to a bowl; cover with water and soak for at least 30 minutes.

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir the cumin until it begins to pop, 2 to 4 minutes. Add the cloves, peppercorns, cardamom pods, and bay leaf; cook and stir until fragrant, about 1 1/2 minutes.

Drain the rice and stir it into the spice mixture; add 1 1/2 cups water and salt. Cover the skillet and cook on high for 5 minutes. Lower the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. Take the skillet off the heat and let it rest with the cover on, about 15 minutes.

Remove the cover and fluff the rice with a fork. Remove the bay leaf, cardamom pods, cloves, and peppercorns.
