Orange Peel Beef

Orange Peel Beef delivers tender, velveted slices of sirloin tossed in a glossy, sweet-tangy orange sauce with pops of ginger, garlic, and pepper flakes. Bright citrus zest lifts the savory soy notes, while a quick stir-fry builds light crisp edges on the beef. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or serving with steamed rice when you’re craving bold, takeout-style flavor at home.

Orange Peel Beef
  1. 1

In a bowl, combine the beef, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and baking soda, and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 3 hours.

  2. 2

Heat peanut oil in a wok or large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add the garlic, ginger, orange zest, and red pepper flakes, and cook until the garlic starts to brown, 20 to 30 seconds. Add the beef; cook and stir until the beef starts to brown and crisp, about 5 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon soy sauce, orange juice concentrate, rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Stir this into the beef, and cook until the sauce thickens and turns clear, about 30 seconds.
