    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

    Press 3 cloves into each quince half; arrange the quince, cut-sides down, in a roasting pan. Pour in the water and wine and add the cinnamon sticks; sprinkle the sugar over the fruit.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, until lightly browned. Turn the quince halves over; bake for about 10 minutes more, until tender. Let the quince cool slightly for about 10 minutes.
