Blushing Cranberry Pears

    Put the cranberry juice, sugar, and cinnamon stick in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, and keep simmering until the sugar dissolves. Meanwhile, peel the pears, keeping the stems attached.

    Place the pears in the simmering juice and cover. Cook, turning occasionally, until the pears are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
