Cheddar and Pecan Filled Button Mushrooms

Cheddar and Pecan Filled Button Mushrooms deliver a rich, nutty bite with buttery sautéed aromatics tucked into tender mushroom caps. Sharp Cheddar melts into the pecan-studded breadcrumb filling, creating a toasty, garlicky contrast to the juicy mushrooms. Serve these warm as an elegant party appetizer or a hearty side for dinner gatherings.

Cheddar and Pecan Filled Button Mushrooms
  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. 2

Remove the stems from the mushrooms and finely chop them.

  3. 3

Melt butter in a large skillet over low heat; brush the mushroom caps with the melted butter and set them on a baking sheet. Increase the heat to medium; cook and stir the chopped mushroom stems, green onion, and garlic in the butter left in the skillet for 3 minutes. Gently stir in the bread crumbs, Cheddar cheese, pecans, salt, and black pepper. Generously fill the mushroom caps with the stuffing, mounding it high.

  4. 4

Bake in the preheated oven until the stuffing is hot, the cheese is melted, and the mushrooms are cooked through, 20 to 30 minutes.
