Grilled Whole Turkey

Grilled Whole Turkey delivers juicy meat and bronzed, smoky skin thanks to indirect heat. A bouillon-garlic-onion seasoning with paprika and poultry herbs bathes the bird for savory depth in every slice. Ideal for holidays or backyard feasts when you want to keep the oven free for sides yet serve a standout centerpiece.

  1. 1

Preheat an outdoor grill for indirect medium heat and lightly oil the grate.

  2. 2

Set the turkey, breast-side down, on the preheated grill and sear both sides until the skin turns golden to dark brown.

  3. 3

In a large roasting pan, combine the water, bouillon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, poultry seasoning, parsley, and paprika.

  4. 4

Place the turkey, breast-side down, in the roasting pan, spoon the seasoning mixture over the top, cover the pan tightly with foil, and set it on the grill.

  5. 5

Grill until the meat is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 3 to 4 hours; an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh near the bone should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Remove from the grill and let rest for 15 minutes before carving.
