Garlic-Herb Cast-Iron Dinner Rolls

Garlic-Herb Cast-Iron Dinner Rolls bake up fluffy and tender inside with crisp, golden edges, brushed in rich butter infused with minced garlic, parsley, and rosemary. A light dusting of Parmesan adds a salty, nutty finish that complements the warm, pull-apart texture. Serve them straight from the skillet at dinner alongside soups, roasts, or holiday spreads.

  1. 1

Brush a 10-inch cast iron skillet with melted butter. In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining melted butter, salt, garlic, flat-leaf parsley, and rosemary.

  2. 2

Add the thawed dough balls to the butter and herb mixture and coat each dough ball well. Arrange the coated dough balls in the prepared skillet. Set aside any leftover butter-herb mixture.

  3. 3

Lightly brush one side of a piece of plastic wrap with melted butter, and cover the rolls with the buttered side facing the rolls. Let sit in a warm, draft-free spot until doubled in size, 2 to 3 hours.

  4. 4

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  5. 5

Carefully remove the plastic wrap. Melt the remaining herb butter in the microwave, if needed, and pour it over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  6. 6

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve warm.
