Ultimate Flat Iron Steak

Ultimate Flat Iron Steak delivers rich, beefy depth boosted by a garlicky, herb-studded red wine marinade. A quick sear locks in juiciness and creates a caramelized crust, giving each slice a balanced mix of tenderness and bold flavor. 1. 1

Put the steak in a large resealable bag. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic, parsley, rosemary, chives, red wine, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.

  2. 2

Pour the marinade over the steak in the bag. Press out as much air as possible and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.

  3. 3

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Put the steak in the hot skillet and discard any leftover marinade; sear and cook the steak for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or to your preferred doneness. An instant-read thermometer inserted in the center should register 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for medium rare.

  4. 4

Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
