Peppermint Meringues

Peppermint Meringues

    Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F (110 degrees C). Line 2 cookie sheets with foil or parchment paper.

    In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat the egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar to soft peaks.

    Gradually add the sugar, continuing to beat until the whites form stiff peaks.

    Drop the mixture by spoonfuls 1 inch apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.

    Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy over the cookies.
