Pizza Buns

Pizza Buns deliver classic pizzeria flavors in a fun, handheld form: toasted hamburger buns piled with seasoned beef simmered in pizza sauce and finished with gooey mozzarella. Expect a toasty crunch, savory, herby meat, and a cheesy top with a hint of heat—great for family dinners, game day, or a quick lunch.

  1. 1

Position an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler.

  2. 2

Arrange the bun halves, crust sides down, on a baking sheet. Broil until just toasted, about 1 minute. Watch closely, as they burn easily. Set aside.

  3. 3

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  4. 4

Cook and stir the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes; drain the excess grease. Add the onion to the beef and cook, stirring, until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes more. Stir in the pizza sauce, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring often, to blend the flavors for 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. 5

Spoon the sauce over the buns on the baking sheet; top each with about 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese.

  6. 6

Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
