Charred Roma Tomato Salsa

Charred Roma Tomato Salsa brings a smoky depth from blistered tomatoes, onion, garlic, and jalapeño, balanced by fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime. It’s bright, lightly spicy, and rounded with cumin, making it perfect for taco nights, game-day snacking, or spooning over grilled meats.

  1. 1

Position an oven rack about 6 inches below the heat source and preheat the oven broiler.

  2. 2

Arrange the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and jalapeño in a medium baking dish; drizzle with olive oil.

  3. 3

Broil, checking frequently, until the vegetables are charred, about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the heat. Remove and discard the tomato cores, the jalapeño stem, and the garlic skins.

  4. 4

Move the charred vegetables to a blender or food processor; pulse until coarsely chopped. Transfer to a medium bowl; stir in the cilantro, lime juice, cumin, and salt.
