Simple Tuna Melt

Simple Tuna Melt layers flaky canned tuna mixed with mayo, Dijon, balsamic, and chopped dill pickles onto toasted whole wheat bread, then tops it with melted sharp Cheddar. It’s tangy, a little sweet from the bread, and satisfyingly gooey—perfect for a quick solo lunch or a warm afternoon bite.

Simple Tuna Melt
  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Put the bread slices in the oven to toast as it heats up, and while you prepare the tuna salad.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, salt, balsamic vinegar, mustard, and dill pickle until well mixed. Take the bread out of the oven, and mound the tuna mixture on one slice. Sprinkle cheese over the other slice of bread.

  3. 3

Bake for 7 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the cheese is melted and the tuna is heated through. Place the slice with cheese on top of the slice with tuna. Cut in half and serve right away.
