Steak, Onion, and Pepper Fajitas

Steak, Onion, and Pepper Fajitas feature juicy grilled beef infused with a bright lime–tequila marinade and finished with smoky peppers and sweet onions. The liquid smoke and Worcestershire add a deep, charred aroma that complements tender slices of steak. Ideal for a lively weeknight dinner or casual weekend gathering, they’re bold, tangy, and satisfying.

  1. 1

Place the steak, lime juice, and tequila in a plastic bag; marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

  2. 2

When you are ready to cook, preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate.

  3. 3

Take the steak out of the marinade and shake off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade.

  4. 4

Grill the steak on the preheated grill until it is no longer pink inside, about 8 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and slice into 1/4-inch strips. Arrange the strips on a serving plate.

  5. 5

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper; stir to combine. When the mixture is hot, add the bell peppers and the onions; cook until the peppers are tender.

  6. 6

Spoon the pepper and onion mixture over the steak strips and serve right away.
